So last night, I had the dubious privilege of being out on Thanksgiving night to pick up a few things from the local mass-marketing giant (not this one, above, but another one). I had to actually wait and go back a half hour later because the scene was similar to above. When I arrived, there were lines to the back of the store with people who had baskets full of stuff they were told by the sales papers was a "good deal"--tools, matresses, video games, cheap ugly clothing, etc.
